Everyday Ensemble Fun!

This post is simply about a comfy cute everyday look that is easy to throw together but also chic. So this is where essentials come in. I use that word often and I genuinely recommend investing in some pieces that will last (quality) and that you love (cute and comfy). For example, I wear these Marni boots allll the time and they go with so many things. I love b&w with a pop of color and I also love mixing prints. So here I paired a striped top with a floral scarf. Easy, cute, and fun! Also, I got these jeans at a store called Fashion Q in Los Angeles for like $15 and they are sooo comfy. They are my go to stretchy jeans. Kept my accessories simple, with my everyday Marc Jacobs watch and ring and a pair of Tom Ford Aviators. Just enough to look put together, but not overdone. Now go about running your errands in comfy cute style!

My top is from American Eagle a while ago but any striped top will do, like this cute Alice and Olivia one.

These Tom Ford aviators are a little different than mine but since I couldn't find mine exactly I still thought these were cute and pictured mine below.

I also have this tote set which I use for running errands and wear with the matching scarf and although I did not use it in my blog picture I wanted to recommend it to you guys. It's a great Coach bag! And the little pouch snaps inside. Great for storing your essentials!

And I love my Marni boots!! Must have splurge!

Traveling in Style

Hey everyone! So today lets talk about traveling in style. Now I absolutely love to just wear like a Juicy suit, some Uggs and a big LV stole when I'm on the plane but lets pretend you have somewhere to be the second you de-plane. This Cynthia Rowley jersey dress is sooo comfy and perfect for traveling, I have actually flown in it before. It didn't wrinkle at all which was great!! This particular dress I'm wearing comes in a ton of different colors but bottom line, the more wrinkle proof your garment, the better for traveling! Second, it does get chilly on planes so I suggest a scarf or a light jacket that isn't too heavy to tote around with you through the airport (unless you're heading somewhere arctic then pack a down coat ;) One of my favorite jackets is this brocade beauty by Vera Wang. Lastly, you could always opt for a pair of cute flats, but these Miu Miu pumps are so comfy, I can walk in them a while. Maybe its the strange heel? Haha. And of course you need a large tote to take all your essentials with you so my trusty Louis Vuitton Wilshire MM in Rouge Fauviste does the trick, however, you can no longer get this bag. So I suggest the Alma in the same color. The deep wine is just so elegant and seems to go with almost everything I wear. So tips in tow, safe and happy travels!!

I just saw this jacket on ebay for under $200, go search it out!

This is a little different than my watch, but I got mine a few years ago so I think this is the closest style right now (colors are the same) and I found it at Macys!

Happy styling and happy shopping!!

Chanel-O Hello I'm back again!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the long hiatus! Back again with a new post using some of my very first Chanel pieces I ever purchased that I still wear today, because well, Chanel is always in and there is a new trend of repeating past trends right now. So I have a few pieces for you circa like 2007 and then some newer pieces as well. I also will post links where you can find something comparable now and also details on my pieces in case you get lucky on ebay as someone is cleaning out their closet one day. Ok so this look is rocker meets fem, with an awesome ballet skirt and some edgy accessories. So like I always say, my advice is to get key pieces for your wardrobe that you know will last (bc of quality) and that you will use (bc you love them) forever. So lets break it down!

Floral and Feminine

Florals are so feminine and fun, and you can rock them for day or night. Since we are in Spring, I definitely recommend adding some floral pieces to your wardrobe. To tie into my last post about essentials, or the key pieces in your wardrobe, this outfit holds some prime examples. These Versace black pumps are one of my fave go to pair of shoes when I need a classic black pump to finish off my look, and as my blog continues I can promise you will see these pumps more than once. I do not want nor do I think it is necessary for anyone to break the bank in the name of fashion. I believe in wearing many things more than once, I'm not that girl that won't wear something twice. I just mix and match my essential pieces differently to create new looks and a big part of my blog will show you how many different ways you can use the same pieces over and over and get totally different looks :) I also always wear these Karl Lagerfeld Sunglasses and that's one of my fave go-to purses from Jimmy Choo.

Build your wardrobe around key pieces.

So for this post I want to talk about building your wardrobe around key pieces, and specifically accessories. For example I wear this Lanvin belt with everything. It was an investment piece. I also wear these Chloe clogs quite a bit. If you invest in a few key pieces you love you can mix and match them with highs and lows in your wardrobe and always have a nice finished look. So for example, you don't have to spend a ton of money getting every single pair of designer shoes you spot. Save up, and invest in things you know you'll wear multiple times. This is always my advice, if you see a fun neon green lace up shoe at Forever 21 for $30 go ahead, you'll wear them maybe once or twice and maybe resell them at Crossroads Trading Company. But if you see a pair of classic black pumps you just have to have from say, Chanel, that would be the time to save up and splurge because you want to think about comfort and quality for the key pieces in your wardrobe. You want something that is comfortable and going to hold up if you plan on making it one of your go-to items. So the higher fashion designers are more expensive, but the quality is what makes that splurge worth it. For example, these Chloe clogs are genuine leather, genuinely comfortable, I wear them all the time and they still look brand new. So find some key pieces, and don't splurge and spend $800 on a pair of shoes you think you'll only wear once. Thats my advice :)

My very first Fashion Blog!

Hello World! My name is Casey Konkel and this is my new blog! I've been posting my pictures on Instagram for a few months now and it is getting a good response so I have decided to make this a legitimate blog called Fashion and Philanthropy. Check out #fashionandphilanthropy on Instagram and you can see my stuff :) First of all, I want to start off by saying that I love Fashion. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts In Musical Theater and have been singing dancing and acting my whole life. I am an artist. In every sense of the word. Aside from the performing arts I also draw, paint, design and make clothes (I mostly hand sew my work), style, do makeup, write poetry, write music, etc The list goes on. I'm an artist and I support all of the arts. Fashion is art. I am also a huge humanitarian and think we all need to come together to make this world a better place. We need to unite to spread love, light, stop the hate and inspire people to make a difference. We need to inspire growth, evolution, compassion, ambition and love. So this is the purpose of my blog. I am so excited to share the fashion and I hope the fashion is enough to bring people in, grab their attention and walk away with the inspiration of the quote as well as some new creative fashion ideas! I hope you guys like it and I'm excited to start this journey with you! Thank you!!
